Windows Live ID Password Issue

Hi, i have concern regarding a windows live id password login. I am able to login to either windows live mesh or my windows live messenger account using a password that i can enter in capitals or non captitals for example

"PassWord01" is the default password i gave it, however i can stil login with
"PASSWORD01" what i don't get is when you are creating an account for the first time it tells you to use upper/lower case letters to make a password, however in this case it doesn't seem to matter.

I also do have another wlm account and that one is case sensitive where i have to enter in the correct info as is. I would like to know is this a security issue here? if not why is that one account not case sensitive?

Sounds more like a Microsoft issue than a PC related issue. Passwords would be stored remotely on their servers and your configuration or settings wouldn't effect this.

Re: Windows Live ID Password Issue

Yes i understand that the password login id issue isn't a problem on my end. However, i do believe it must be some kind of a security issue and would like to know why it is like this. I know the easy way to resolve the problem would be to change my password, but that won't really fix the reason why i am able to login like this, so i am more intersted in figuring out whats wrong and if they are aware of this problem and possibly fix it.

Re: Windows Live ID Password Issue

I believe that there has been quite a few problems lately with Windows Live, and they are making quite an effort to fix it.
