| Vista 64 Bit | Avg Hi all, I am a bit puzzled about which Anti-Virus is best, I used to have Avira, and its still installed, but for some reason it will just not update at all, I managed only just to get the first update after installing it, but since then nothing, so I am thinking of going back to AVG as recommended by Norm, but I have always got into a routine of before playing any game or installing anything, I go into Ctrl-Alt-Del and end all processes of the Anti-Virus and Search and Destroy, just incase, it may not be neccessary but I do it as its become false of habit now. Thing is that with Avira its not a problem, but with AVG which I used to have, I found that its an age before I can end a process of AVG, as I end one only for it to come back again and again, this goes on for a long time and as Avira will not update I am a bit undecided about which to go with and how to overcome those issues. Anyone got any ideas about what to do or do I not need to end them via Ctrl-Alt-Del for playing games and installing stuff? I need to get a Virus program that is no bother or at least not much ![]() Jekyll and Hyde |

| Windows 7 RC x64 Vista HP x86 | Re: Avg Hi Jekyll and Hyde, you may want to have a look at avast, not saying it's better than any other but it does have the option to pause it's various modules from the tray icon, which is great for installs etc |

| Vista 64 Bit | Re: Avg Hi Barman, Yes I do recall Avast, and infact I had it for XP, but for reaosns I cannot remember I reverted to AVG for XP, but I am yet to try Avast on Vista, my memories of Avast were good though, so I'll go look it up again. Just can't understand why on earth Avira is behaving so badly at present, I did read on their forums that the servers in Germany are always very busy in the day and its best to update at night or evenings, but I tried that and it was still hopeless But thank you for reminding me of Avast.
