| Vista Ultimate x64 | Problem with Bitlocker Hallo I have encrypted the hard disk of my Lenovo W700 with Bitlocker (TPM + PIN and 256bit AES with diffuser). I use Vista Ultimate 64 Bit and have installed all updates. The problem is that every time I start my computer I have to input the bitlocker key (not only the pin but the whole recovery key)! I have deactivated and activated Bitlocker several times. This is what Microsoft suggests to do. So that all new system configurations are applied and they are registered with Bitlocker. But that doesn’t help. Even if I do not change anything on the system I have to input the key after a restart. What should I do now? Can anyone help me, please? Thanks Enrico |

| Vista Ultimate X64 SP2 | Re: Problem with Bitlocker I had this happen to me. The problem is for whatever reason is it no longer sees your TPM as being tamper-free, (and/or your usb key is not read at startup if one is used-a 500mb usb thumbdrive or smaller is the only thing that works for me). Fix: Enter recovery key if necessary, unencrypt all bitlocker encrypted drives, create new usb key and/or TPM key, and re-encrypt drives. Last edited by rive0108; 11-21-2008 at 02:10 AM.. |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Problem with Bitlocker I'm encountering the same issue. Even if I disable Bitlocker, reenable it and immediately reboot, it claims my configuration "has changed" and I have to insert my recovery key (or type it in manually, either way.) |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Problem with Bitlocker I've not tried a full decryption. I'll give that a shot and reinitialize TPM afterwards. Any idea what causes this, so I don't inadvertently get into the same situation again? |
