Re: XLG security scam

I have an Advent 9415 running Vista Home Premium - I managed to get the repair installation to work but this has not fixed my problem Also got into dos and deleted what i was told were all the files from XLG security scam which is what caused the problem. So when i try to reinstall from the image file i get the error message that the .wim does not exist

Re: XLG security scam

Ok aud47,
Now i am guessing you can get onto your computer ok right?
You should back up ANY important files to a flash drive or CD so that it is very easy to access.
To use PC Restore: This will reset you computer to its original state you had it when it first came out of the box. Your HDD with be wiped out and restored with the exact things as when you first got your computer.

1 Turn on the computer.

2 Immediately press <Ctrl><F11>.

If you do not press <Ctrl><F11> in time, let the computer finish restarting, and then restart the computer again.

Hope this helps,
Ben

Re: XLG security scam

Hi aud47,

To remove the original problem ...

Removal instructions for XLG Security Center - Malwarebytes Security Forums

As for your install problem - Was this an official Microsoft download, if it was then contact them with your purchase details and they should sort out your problems.

If this is downloaded from another source then forum rules do not allow it's discussion.

If you follow Ben's advice then you should end up with a working system
