Vista - UAC difficulties.. i think

Running Vista x64 Business w/ SP1. One User w/ Admin authority.

Problem:

I installed a program (Warhammer: Online) that has the "Run as Administrator" Shield notification on the icon.
When using this program, I want to use Program Specific button reassignment w/ my Microsoft Sidewinder Mouse. However, "Program Specific button reassignment" doesn't work on programs that require "Run as Administrator."
So, I looked in the Icon properties of the program and "Run As Admin" is not checked.
I decided to turn off UAC to see if that would help; but, when I looked at my UAC setting under "Users", that box is not checked either.

And, I cannot even turn it on. When I select the box, then click ok, reopen the UAC, the box is not checked.

It's like I have NO control over the UAC.

Problem 2,

I have a program that requires "Run as Admin". This program is a "Start Up" Program; and, Windows Defender blocks the program from auto start. The program is Xfire.

-Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I made an Elite Account, I had the same results. But haven't read any tutorial. I'll check it out.

And you won't. Warhammer has it built into the compiled executable that it is always going to ask for Admin privileges to run.

You want to be able to change your buttons? Run your Sidewinder control as admin - then you'll be fine.
