| Vista x64 + Windows 7 x64 (Ultimate) | UAC nag with some start-up items... So, I have set the G7 mouse and Everest to run as admin and start at start-up but I keep getting the nag of the UAC and I have to enable those two again. Is there any way to make them start w/o dissabling the UAC altogether? I have to do this because in some games, the mouse won't work with some buttons and Everest because it is the only way to have some temps running on my G15 KB LCD, which is a very cool feature. I know there was a discussion on the mouse problem but, even after reading a lot of the mouse posts here, I couldn't find the answer. I am using Logitech Setpoint 4.70.213 which I think is the latest from logitech. I am also using Everest Ver. 4.60.1500 Last edited by AstaLaVista; 01-25-2009 at 02:35 PM.. |

Task Scheduler - Create Task Hope this helps, Shawn All I remember doing was making the mouse run as administrator, it asked me a few questions and then, at start up, I had to do what you see on the attachment. I have not tried to uninstall setpoint to see if that will cure it because I have all my custom game setting and I don't want to loose that. |

| Vista x64 + Windows 7 x64 (Ultimate) | Re: UAC nag with some start-up items... I seriously doubt that since I have defender DISABLED but, anything is possible I guess. I don't recall what I did to disable Defender, can you guys tell me where to go check (just for good measure of course! ) ![]() At any rate, I think I have it licked but I am to tired and to lazy to try it now. I knew I had seen this here and even though the link is from another forum, it came from a Gaming post. SlickDeals.net Forums - View Single Post - Vista Blocked Programs at Startup- Fix Once and for All I'll try it tomorrow and post back. something tells me that Brink (Shawn) was 85% right on this one but I had forgotten 1 little step in the process. |

| Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 | Re: UAC nag with some start-up items... Hmmm....I have a logitech Wave keyboard and an MX Revolution mouse using the setpoint 4.60 drivers and don't have any UAC issues with them. That's strange that you get UAC issues with the setpoint drivers. I'll give the 4.70's a try and see what happens. Vista Ultimate x64 as well. Edit - I just installed the 4.70 Setpoint drivers and all is good - No UAC prompts. Something wonky is obviously going on with your system and the drivers. Did you have the problem with the old drivers, or is this the first Setpoint drivers you've used? Last edited by sygnus21; 01-26-2009 at 12:05 PM.. |

I didn't have problems before but I had to do that in order to play a few o my games because many of the buttons wouldn't work In-Game and this was the only way to make the games play well with the mouse in Vista. |

| Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 | Re: UAC nag with some start-up items... It runs at startup and I have no admin rights assigned. Been that way since I moved to Vista in Nov 2007. In fact after I read your post I updated my drivers to 4.70 - all I did was install, reboot, and they worked - just like they've always done, no problems. I'm telling you, somethings strange going on there; I've been using Setpoint drivers since 4.40 and have never had a UAC prompt. I've also haven't seen it in the Logitech forums, though I haven't been there awhile. Might be worth your time to visit? |
