Vista - Installation-Unistall Procedure for Nod32/Vista

Friends: I've got a new Dell laptop that came with bundled McCaffrie (sp?) AV and firewall. I want to install NOD32, and it's my understanding that I have to unistall
the existing AV first. My question is, do I activate the new firewall (Windows) before or after I install NOD32? Thanks in advance for your help; I am obviously new and clueless to computers and security issues. I'd appreciate any tips to reduce potential anxiety levels. Cheers

Hi Tim,

Just uninstall The Mcafee from the Control Panel-Programs and Features and install your new AV. You can have the Windows Firewall active during all of that. Just go to the Security Center in the Control Panel and if it's off then you can activate it.

As most other AV makers Mcafee have a tool to help with uninstalling. See procedures and link to download here How to uninstall or reinstall supported McAfee consumer products using the McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR.exe) Stop when you reach "Reinstalling"
