How secure is Google Chrome?

Quote:
Google Chrome was built from the ground up to be a more secure Web browser, and Google and its Chromium developers should be applauded for the attention they have brought to browser security. Google deserves much credit for the wealth of security information posted on the Internet and on the Google Chrome blog, and for making Chrome's source code available for anyone to examine.

The security model Chrome follows is excellent. Chrome separates the main browser program, called the browser kernel, from the rendering processes, which are based upon the open source WebKit engine, also used by Apple's Safari. The browser kernel starts with all privileges removed, the null SID (a security identifier in Windows Vista that denotes the user as untrusted), and multiple "restrict" and "deny" SIDs enabled. On Windows Vista, Chrome runs as a medium-integrity process.

Re: How secure is Google Chrome?

Thanks Airbot....I have been "hooked" by Chrome. It's all I have used for about 3 months. I can't even stand the look and feel of Firefox anymore. I hope they keep Chrome secure because as more people try it, it will take market share. It is very nice to use.

Re: How secure is Google Chrome?

Hi guys, I really like to try the Chrome. Is there a simple way to transfer my bookmarks from Firefox to the new browser? Thanks.

Re: How secure is Google Chrome?

Chrome gives you an option to export them. I think it works for Firefox. If not you can export them to an html file and import them into Chrome. After that create a new folder on the left side (where we're all used to them) and put them all in that folder. I honestly can't go back to the others and I was a hardcore Firefox guy.

Re: How secure is Google Chrome?

When I first ran Chrome, it automatically searched for my bookmarks, so I had no problems there

I think that's only if your bookmarks are stored in the Favourites folder in your user folder, and as I used IE7 before Chrome, they were all stored there, and I'm not sure where Firefox stores them?

Re: How secure is Google Chrome?

Try C>Program files>Mozilla firefox>Defaults>Profile>Bookmarks. I think you can get them there. Then Chrome has an Import feature in bookmarks manager. Copy that file and import them into Chrome.

If this works....hit the scales. I need it. hahaha

Re: How secure is Google Chrome?

If firefox has an "export" option, you could export them to a html file and import them to Chrome from there. Hope this helps. You will love Chrome.
