| Windows 7 RC x64 Vista HP x86 | Re: Is it safe to uninstall previous updates of Java 6? Hi Tony, It's not only Ok it's actually, IMHO, advisable to do so - whilst the older versions remain there, any vulnerabilities that were corrected in later issues, remain on your machine and thus there is a possibility of them being used to compromise your machine |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Is it safe to uninstall previous updates of Java 6? Always seems to take a week or two to hit the usual Java page(s), but you can find the latest on the Developers site, Java SE Downloads - Sun Developer Network (SDN) just select the Runtime download. Adn as an added bonus with 6u12, Quote: This release includes the highly anticipated 64-bit Java Plug-In (for 64-bit browsers only), Windows Server 2008 support, and performance improvements of Java and JavaFX applications. |

Just uninstall your java and get it from the link stormy posted, you can get the 32 and the 64 from the 64 bit link, you just have to select Windows for the 32 bit from the drop down menu. But I'm sure you already know that. |
