| Vista Home Premium 64 bit | Windows Defender Can anyone please tell me how to disable Windows Defender? This might be the problem I'm having with my computer not recognizing my Windows Live OneCare as my antivirus and my firewall. I really need some advice on how to get my computer to recognize my Live OneCare and not its own security. This is sure different from XP.!  |

| Vista Ultimate 64bit SP2/ | Re: Windows Defender Open up the Control Panel\Administrative Tools\Services then look for windows defender and right click on it and go into the properties and for the startup type select disabled in the drop down box and ok everything and then restart your computer. |

| Vista Home Premium 64 bit | Re: Windows Defender Thanks, I'll do that. I had Windows Defender with my other computer and it would not let me do ANYTHING, therefore, that's why I don't use it. It was just too powerful and controlling for me. |
