Vista - Windows Security alert help please help.

hey whats up... I'm having a problem with windows security alerts, so its telling me that my malware protecti0n is off I'm running AVG 8.0 and it say that its off i need help turning it on when i click turn on it goes to screen with continue i click that and it inst turning on help me please...

Have you tried to reinstall AVG? or checked the taskbar icon to see if it needs to be enabled? Turning it on from the security center Windows may not be activating all of the components. Check the program itself to see if it says it is fully functional and "on", If it is, and you still have problems with the security center saying it is off you can:

1. try to reinstall it
2. Tell Security center to stop monitoring it.
3. remove and replace with free Avast!: http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html; or free Avira:http://www.free-av.com/en/index.html
