Vista - Cannot Delete uxtheme.dll on 64bit

Hi,

I created a backup from uxtheme.dll in system32 folder and patched it afterwards.
Now i want to unpatch it because my vista theme is only grey.

I cannot delete, rename or do anything other with that dll because there is only written: access denied because i haven't got the access authorisation for it.

I already tried following method and it failed:

Check you correct changed permissions for file
Take Ownership of file

Yeah, take ownership of the file then delete it.

You can use the following command...

Takeown /f "insert file pathway here for eg c:\file.dll"

After you run that command you will have control of the file (hopefully) and will be able to do whatever you want to it.

If you still cant change it make sure there are no deny ACE preventing a group your in or your username changing it. (Right click on the file and click properties, go to security and look for any deny boxes that are ticked)

You will need admin permissions for all of that
