New Vista User >> Help needed. RE: UAC

Hi guys I'm new to using Vista and I have a problem concerning the User Account Control. Sorry if posted on a wrong area, moderators feel free to put me in the right place. Anyway my question is:

I have a game that has a security shield pasted on it, and whenever I open it User Account Control asks me if I would like to run it or not. I have opened this program a gazillion times and yet each time User Account Control asks for my permission. Not that I have a problem with that, but when it does that, whenever I make a decision to Run it or not, the Windows screen refreshes itself and affects other program's video graphics to a point that the other program shows a blank white screen, giving it a graphics failure. Since User Account Control does that, i would like it to be disabled BUT only on that certain program. I don't want it to be disabled completely. Is this possible? Or do I have to disable the User Account Control completely? Or is there a way to remove the Security Shield on that certain program?

Thanks and more power.

Hello Fedalanda, and welcome to Vista Forums.

You can use the Norton UAC Tool to have an exception list of programs to be automatically have UAC approval.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

What do you think of the Norton tool Brink. I brought it up on this forum. I had the feeling people didn't like it. I have a friend however who loves it. I have not tried it. UAC does not bother me much. If this tool makes it better....maybe I should try it. Do you use it?

Hi Nate,

It works great with Vista. Making UAC better or not is really up to you though since it only allows you to have a program exception list for UAC. I suppose that using the program could potentially lower your security level, by the fact that if one of the programs you added to the exception list is exploited by malware and is automatically approved instead of manually.
