What is "vtttimerr.exe" ??

Hello all,

Can anyone advise what this file does?

This error message keeps on propping up at start up.

Error Message: The Setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program

With Auslogics Start Up Manager, tried to remove the entry with Start Up Management to no avail. It just props up again.

C:\Windows\system32\Vtimmer\vtttimerr.exe

Alien-Spirit is the publisher.

Attached are the screen shots.

Appreciates any help to resolve this irritant.
Thanks

You didn't happen to do an upgrade install over XP did you? Reason for asking is the only thing I can find regarding Alien-Spirit all says that it is a hacked version of XP.

As far as vttimerr.exe, change the spelling slightly to vttimer.exe.exe, and it is a backdoor trojan.

No. Running on legitimate and licensed Windows Vista Home Premium (6.0.6001)

Tried to delete the entry in the windows registery (RUN), changed its name...all to no avail.
It just kicks in at every start up!

Acording to the Auslogic report per attachment, original name for the file is STB.ExE.
Wonder what that is???

According to here,

stb.exe - stb - Process Information

something you really don't want. If you haven't yet it would be a real good idea to run a virus scan or two; don't install more than one, run the other scan(s) online like this one,

Free Virus Scan - Kaspersky Lab

and while you're at it if you don't have them give these a try as well (free versions),

Malwarebytes.org

SUPERAntiSpyware.com - AntiAdware. AntiSpyware. AntiMalware.
