Internet Explorer some settings disabled for administrator also

Hi,

When I try to change the settings for Internet Explorer for not to remember forms content and user names and passwords on forms, it does not allow me even though I am administrator. It displays "Some settings are managed by your system administrator".

I presume that some of these settings might have got changed through group policy settings or something similar. But I have no clue on how to view and edit or disable the group policy settings. I am the only person using this machine and is a home laptop and not connected to any domain either.

I have Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18702 on my machine.

Attached is screen image for same.

Any help will be appreciated.

Evfu.

Is your User Account the Admin account or a standard User account?

If you are the Admin-Windows is most likely corrupted, and no longer sees your User as having Admin Priviledges.

If so, then most likely your problem is due to User corruption, you can attempt to take ownership, or log into the hidden admin account to see if it works there, If it does, or you are prevented from accessing it through elevation prompts, you may need to repair/re-install Vista.

ps- do you use reg cleaners? Windows corruption is usually a result of either malware or user error (i.e., reg cleaners)

This is the way it should be:

Possibly, the Windows installation might be corrupted. However, I can give it a try to take ownership or log into the hidden admin account.

I will appreciate if you can tell me how do I log into the hidden admin account and take ownership.

Thanks and Regards,

Evfu
