Vista - eset smart security 4 out

Just received an email from eset , i see smart security 4 is out now , afetr much discussion on the firewall part of the suite on these forums ill install version 4 and let you know how it goes

firewall seems as hopeless as he one in version 3 , back to commodo

What was wrong with ESET 3.0

I'm currently on SMart Security 4.0 after using 3.0 for a year. and so far my internet is much slower. and every 20 minutes or so. I'll get a temporary Time out and pages wont load and such.. yet the other computer I left 3.0 on does not do this. I think something is wrong with 4.0 and I'm about to revert back to 3.0

what did you find wrong with the firewall

The firewall isnt bad when not in automatic mode but it failed leak tests and as Outgoing traffic is just as important as incoming when it comes to security im thinking the firewall is sadly lacking , still using the AV that is fantastic but im with the free commodo FW

I didnt leave ver 4 installed long enough to notice any drop in internet connection/performance so i cant comment on that mate , the wife has Ver 4 on her laptop but she seems fine with it , the laptop is XP though

I'm using version 4 of the Anti Virus on Vista and everything seems to be fine, I use the built in firewall.
Haven't noticed any slow downs since the install in either IE7 or IE8 which I'm now using.

im thinking its the firewall thats maybe slowing his connection Joan
