Terrible virus problem

Can any one please help me...

This is a really new problem that i have never come across . Here is what happened. I tried to use a USB to copy some files.
The USB contained folder.exe and foldername.exe virus. I removed the USB immeditely from my laptop.
From then started the problem.

Some unknown virus got into my system which was not identified by my etrust or norton virus scanner.
From then my computer started malfunctioning. In the start up screen it locks the keyboard mainly the numbers and space bar and automatically fills in the password box.
With difficulties if we boot into the desktop some programs like windows media player, internet explorer opens several times with out control and finally locks the system. I formatted the hard disk and newly created the partition.
Also reconstructed the bcd, boot files with windows recovery. Still no luck same virus same problem still there.
Tried to fix the problem with my system service engineer. But no luck. This is a great deal.

Would appreciate any help in solving this problem.

Note- When i tried to rebuild bcd with boot command to my suprise there was a number automatically generated near the oldbcd file when tried using the back up bcd.

Now that after formatting windows and loading new one none of my anti virus works even my task manger screen dont show up... Please help

Thanks in advance

Re: Terrible virus problem

wait did the usb stick already have the 'folder.exe and foldername.exe virus' on it when you got it and did you open the .exe files, cause they cant do anything if you dont open them, only when you open they start to work..

Why would you re-install, and then fix the boot data? are you dual booting?

Any malware, can easily infect the files if it was never removed (ie, exisiting on another partition, exisiting on a removable drive.

This is what I suggest:

Do not restore vista from a created image. Backup all data files to external/dvds. (these will have to be assumed as Infected, and cleaned)
Use a Vista disk, boot it up and DELETE all partitions. Re-install Vista into the unpartitioned space.
Keep all backups/thumbdrives, etc, away from the new install as they are infected.

Download all Drivers/Antivirus programs. If you have a disk that is OEM it is not probably infected. Install any drivers off such a disk.

Then download the following and update:

NOD32 version 4 Antivirus/Antispyware (not the smart security)
Best Free Antivirus: ESET! Try free antivirus programs for 30 days.

Now you have NOD32 antivirus which has recieved top marks from certified labs, has antimalware, self defense to prevent malware corruption, and diagnostic SysInspector. as well as Windows defender.

Update the NOD32 4, and run a scan. then set a
"checkpoint" for system Inspector. This will give it a benckmark for comparison (hueristic and ON-demand detection)

Now run a Full scan with Defender.
This is very Important!! go to Windows update, and keep going back until it states no more updates are Available for your system.

Now download and run Malwarebytes. This is specifically targeted for polymorphic trojans, and is specialized. it is not effective against other threats.
but you have NOD32 (which is the best on the market, and includes antispyware, and you have the redundant Windows Defender, Antimalware.
At this point when you are set up with antimalware protection, antiviral protection, and self defense to prevent corruption, you have all the Windows Updates available for your pc.
Now it is time to scan and clean all external drives. Insert all drives and scan again (full custom scan for COMPUTER in NOD32 and FULL scan with Defender, and Malware bytes.)

Your system is now significantly hardened from Infection/Attack, and scanning/cleaning of malmware can be safely performed.
