Hi ... i have made just positive experiences with Anvira Antivir! I think its a got Programme ... the thing is sometimes (but this is really unusual) u get wrong warnings, but often u can solve this by using google ...

so I dont know Avast Antivirus ... but I can really advise Avira

I am in the same boat as mowh. I use and trust Avira, but have no experience with Avast. With any aggressive a/v you'll get false positives, but, in my book, it's better to err to the conservative than the liberal when it comes to system security.

Ive had a couple false positve with avast but i think the home versions web security is real good the the real time scan is real good

the main thing i like about avast is the fact it dosent use that many system resourses

yes i do like that, and i also like the fact that it has more options that Avira and does not have that annoying pop-up that Avira does

I use the free edition of Avira. Been good to me for almost 2 months. I know...the pop-up ad that you see when you receive an update can get to be a pain...if you let it. But the code writers would like you to purchase the upgrade to personal. They work hard to make it what it is...a really good product for free or for $$.

i know but a pop-up to get me to upgrade is not going to get me to upgrade it is going to get me to uninstall it and go with a different program.

if you want me to upgrade think of something else like more features or long term benefits.
