Re: Norton 2009

Best advice anyone can ever give you about Norton is UNINSTALL it, its a resource hog.

Re: Norton 2009

For the average user I would recommend AVG, but if you want something more advanced use Zone Alarm.

I like Avast myself. Also:

Use at least two anti-spyware solutions like Ad-Aware and Malwarebytes
Run as a standard user
Have a firewall on your router and your PC
Don't download/install/click things unless you trust the source

no its not , norton always has and always will be one of the best antivirus solutions around , they have been doing it a very long time and they are very good at it , and its not a resource hog , it never was , as a standalone Norton AV is one of the best.

It got a bad name (and rightly so) for its internet security suites (firwall/antivirus/antispyware) and i was one of its big haters , i still am , they werer a resource hog , even though they have made massive improvements with norton 360 they still try too hard to make it idiot proof and do everything for you giving you very little control over anything. But all that said i installed 360 on our work PC as it came free and i was pleasently surprised. (i still wouldnt touch it with a bargepole)

BUT the AV alone is very good

Re: Norton 2009

Northon is a good AW program and the latest version is light. Can be recommended.
