VISTA uninstall Norton 360 clash with Bitdefender

Hi, I have uninstalled Norton 360 and yet the Firewall is still on, I am unable to turn it off. I have changed anti virus programs to Bitdefender and I think they are clashing so that my pc restarts every 20 mins. Both Bitdefender and Norton 360 firewalls are shown as on. How do I turn off N360 and remove it?

Did you use the Norton Uninstaller ( Download and run the Norton Removal Tool )? If not, you are bound to have problems because the normal Vista uninstall does not remove it completely. Even Revo cannot do it.

Do you have a logitech mouse? If yes, update the driver.

no its a hp mouse. Is this likely to be a driver issue?

thanks, I'll give it a go and see what goes. Having reported the problem, Friday went all day without the mysterious restart and error message, so perhaps it was (intake of breath) a one off gremlin? I'll update and hope its the last of it, if not I'll report back. Thanks again for the help so far
