Malware PRotection/Spyware?

Currently.. All i am running is The Windows Def. The windows firewall(one that came with computer) and AVG Free version. But someone said something about spyware? Malware protection? And btw... i DO-NOT trust Malwarebytes Anti-Malware anymore. My dads friend had the free version on his computer and when he came over, (my wireless internet has super duper scanners built in)(my dad's business servers r at our basement) so it scanned my dads friends laptop, and their was like some sort of worm/trojan -like thing inside of malwarebytes anti-malware! So i just dont trust it! But all i got is -->

AVG Free, Windows Def, and normal Windows firewall. Any advice for Malware protetion/spyware stuff? OR is anti-spyware built-into AVG?

Re: Malware PRotection/Spyware?

I suggest, & recommend you investigate SuperAntiSpyware. [ Their support is excellent too.]

Re: Malware PRotection/Spyware?

AVG free is so, so (according to the professional tests). But some people seem to be happy with it. I prefer Norton IS09, Kaspersky IS09 or NOD32. They have had top ratings recently.

PS: I also use SAS (superantispyware) as a scanner. It is quite good.

Re: Malware PRotection/Spyware?

Yea, I want NOD32, but I'm not willing to pay for anything. And not able to get it via torrent. (If anyone know what that is..) So yea I might check out Panda? is it any good?

Home Premium X64, not impressed with W7 RC yet...

Re: Malware PRotection/Spyware?

Panda is relatively new, so I'm not sure what types of tests it's been put through

Oh and Windows Defender is a malware scanner. Spyware is malware, so you have a scanner already.

Re: Malware PRotection/Spyware?

If you have been happy with AVG free, stick with it. It runs happily with Defender, the Win. firewall & SuperAnti Spyware.
[FWIW, we use AVG Anti Virus Pro here & see no reason whatsoever to change.]

Re: Malware PRotection/Spyware?

Well they do say -
You need to have credentials to download ESET*********. Click here to request them. An email with username and password will be sent to you shortly.
Have you checked for the expected email?
