Data Execution Prevention has closed this app. What gives?

I get an error message right after installing Google Calendar Sync. also when I try to launch it. Google Calendar Has Stopped Working (Data Execution Prevention has closed this app.)

I didn't find anything in their help forums at all. Can someone assist me with this?

Follow the instruction here to turn off the dep for GoogleCalendarSync.exe.

the GoogleCalendarSync.exe will be located in program files folder.

Thanks, however, the DEP panel is all grayed out. I can't choose anything.

Hello Gil,

Double check to make sure that you have DEP enabled to see if you can afterwards, or just make sure it's disabled to not have to worry about adding that program as an exception. Since you have a 64-bit system, you will also have a no execute BIOS setting for you CPU that may need to be disabled as well. Personally I would leave DEP enabled and find a better program to have better security.

Disable the dep from command prompt by using Always off switch in the above link given by brink.

Restart and try
