| Vista Pavilion Entertainment PC | m3plugin.dll is missing on boot I have Norton 360 and have it scan/check every 60 minutes or so to make sure nothing is coming through regarding new virus' or malware, yet I keep on getting new malware/virus'....what am i doing wrong? I had a malware threaten me last week, so much so that I had to enlist a 360 rep to find the software and get rid of it. And at quite a price i might add. Now I have another virus/malware this week and 360 doesn't seem to be catching it either. And according to Norton 360, I don't have any virus' or malware at all. I think that is now a false statement. I have DSL and a linksys router, yet I'm finding that these items are getting through to me. Does this mean that I have a hole somewhere? can you help me? |

If you are finding that you are still getting true virus's (not just false positives), you should examine your safe computing practices Are you loading games from friends or others. Do you open attachments in your mail client, have you completely re-installed your OS and formatted the partitons lately? I was a former Norton fan, but of late it has become to bloated and does not catch all the nasties. Two of the top AV's ar microsoft security essentials, and my choice Eset smart security (both AV and firewall), you also need to run anti malware softwarw like malbytes. Hope this helps Ken |

| Vista Ultimate 64-bit, SP2 | Re: m3plugin.dll is missing on boot Hello gerrieaustin, As well as the good advice supplied by zigzag 3143 remember that the best security of all is the hand that clicks the mouse. Be very aware of what you are doing all of the time. Besides Norton 360 what other security progs. are you running? Has your router a firewall? What browser are you using? Is UAC on? |
