The video was removed. I can't find it anywhere.

I wanted to watch it too.

Re: Symantec Campaigns Against Free Antivirus

that's bad.

it was a video with no talking whatsoever. there were two actors(?), one woman and one man, who held up cards for you and me to read. it started off with the woman stating that the "best things in life are free." they go back and forth with stuff like "love is free," which his reply was, "but weddings are expensive."

later on, she introduces "viruses," which his reply was "yeah, they're free, but do you really want them?" she's like "well, there are free ways to stop malware and viruses," to which his reply was "free virus software does not scan email attachments, scan for infected webpages," etc. (basically, anything they were claiming the free antivirus products could do was not exactly truthful. i use avast! and all that the video claimed my free product could not do, it does).

again, there were no words spoken, all the dialogue took place by way of the cards. there's no way i could have done the video any justice with these short descriptions... it's a shame that they removed the video.

Nice try, Symantec! Cheesey video warns against free antivirus
Avast doesn't have intrusion protection and the updates are on a slower server. I wouldn't put my security at risk with a free product.
