Microsoft Security Essentials – Week One.

Now that Microsoft Security Essentials is generally available to consumers in 19 countries, we've had a chance to go over the data, and there are some very interesting results. Just in the first week we saw well over 1.5 million downloads of Microsoft Security Essentials, but the price (free to Windows users) is hard to beat!

Does Microsoft Security Essentials have a 64 Bit Vista version? I tried doing searches on their site and was unable to find it.

You can get 64bit e.g. from here Microsoft Security Essentials for Vista and 7 (64 Bit) - Freeware - Download.CHIP.eu

PS: this is a reputable website. Largest German computer magazine's site.

Re: Microsoft Security Essentials – Week One.

While upgrading to Windows 7, I downloaded the Windows7UpgradeAdvisorSetup software. I tried to install it, but I kept getting this message 'windows installer could not be accessed...so try again etc., Thinking there was an issue with the download, I downloaded it again, and then a third time. Still it will not work. So I uninstalled my Panda Internet Security software which may have prevented it from accessing what it needed on my computer. After restarting, I tried installing the advisor again but it still would not work. So there must be some system file(windows installer) that is not present on my system. I am no technical guru gentlemen. This may not be the correct forum to even post this. Is it possible that the Win7Advisor......is a 32bit system app? Is there a 64bit version?

    Regards
    James
