Vista - Data Execution Prevention prevents my windows dvd maker to stop working.

I am trying to use windows dvd maker but it keeps getting shut down because
of the Data Execution Prevention program. I've tried to turn it off for the
dvd program but I get a message saying that it can't be shut off for the dvd
program. I've tried also redownloading the dvd program, that also didn't
work. I'm not sure where to go from here, Can anyone help....this started happening recently after one of my codecs stopped working and my computer wouldn't start...and due to that...I had to choose the option of re-install everything to factor settings...so I've lost everything I had and now all of the sudden my windows Dvd maker doesn't work anymore...and it had no issues with data prevention execution before the re-installation....Pls help!
