Vista Total Security help.

Yesterday, I was on teh Firefox when it crashed randomly and when I started it back up it gave me a screen of the Vista Total Security thing. It's telling me that I need to register my version of this program and it's even giving me "Security ALERTS" of attacks. I know this was not legit so I proceeded to search for some way to get rid of it. I found one but it didn't work. It was probably connected to Firefox somehow so I deleted all my history and stuff from the browser and it still shows. Even after I close it with Task Manager, it still wants to ask me if I want to start Firefox or IE even if it's "infected" with a virus of some sort.

I took some pics as it came up while writing this thread.

Also, BitDefender didn't seem to pick up this problem too so...Maybe I'll post some more pix so you can see.

EDIT: I got yet another "Notification" after posting..

"Total Vista Security" is a virus itself. I don't know how you got it other than to have willingly clicked on it but you need to remove it as soon as possible.

Good products for protecting your computer include:

Microsoft Security Essentials (Anti-Virus) Free
Malwarebytes - Anti-Malware) Free

Just finished scanning the whole system and it removed 5 files supposedly and I just got back from rebooting. It's still occurring. I start Firefox again and the virus is still present. :/

I am just curious .....Have you tried IE8 instead of Firefox to see if you get the same problem?
The problem may be related to the site where you downloaded Firefox from....
Like I said.... I am just curious!

I did. Out of curiosity to see it would produce same results and it did! And I downloaded Firefox from the official Mozilla site. Where else would I get another free copy of FF anyway?

Just wanted to make sure you downloaded from Official Mozilla site.
Google Macro.Visio.Radiant for more info and wait for a cert. tech to come back on.
