Self Created ISO: packed with infection resolving tools!

Neverhavemoney

Vista Guru
Hey there everyone,

I have just built 2 new ISO's (one for 64-bit and one for 32-bit)
It contains a crap loada stuff. It has about 10 programs (installation files) of all the best removal products available these days.

The links are:
32-bit: MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
64-bit: MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

I will be making video tutorials soon, and post them online or wrap them up in the ISO (not sure yet, dont want size to become a factor).

Anyways, use them out, and let me know if there are any programs I should add. Remember, this iso is for programs needed for removal of infections, not other computer needs.

Programs included:
Avast
Nirsoft bluescreenview
Comodo internet security (firewall+antivirus)
Ccleaner
Eraser
Gifbackup
Malwarebytes
Recuva
Spybot s+d
Unlocker

I swear by these iso's and will update them as often as possible!

Thanks everyone,
Ben:)

Hi Ben,

Very nice. I have noticed that you have only included the less destructive, just click the Scan button programs. Maybe you should also make another specialist .iso including these tools as well:

HiJackThis
GMER
RSIT
ComboFix

Anyway, really nice.

Thanks Rich,
I will look more into that, I do like this idea very much. If you find any other programs you would like me to add, let me know. Also, and other software in general (such as a network monitoring group of software) that i can make an iso out of, let me know. I dont mind keeping these things updated, and it is very useful for everyone on here, at least i believe.

Let me know,
Ben

Hi Ben,

Just realised I had forgotten a tool. This tool should be included in all packages, as it is safe for noobs to mess around with. It unlockes system tools (such as regedit.exe and cmd.exe etc. after a virus lockes them out, and has a very high success rate)

Download Re-Enable Portable 2.0.1.0 - Re Enable regedit, command console "cmd", task manager, system restore and folder options after been disabled by a virus - Softpedia

EDIT: I have now just thought of some more tools! You should possibly consider including some of the Sysinternals Utilities. In particular, you should include the Pstools suite, as this includes several tools, in particular psexec.exe, that really helps me during a Malware attack.

Thanks for the awsome tools rich. I will deffinatly be looking into all these. I also found a program (mmaximum PC april 2010) that analyzes a hijackthis scan. It is free and doesnt even need to be installed. I will be doing a fresh install of 7 (mines really laggy and can't get some programs off) but i will be back up and running in a few hours to start these updates. If you think of any more bud, let me know right here and ill do my best to include them.

Thanks man,
Ben

Hi,

This is not another tool, but I was just looking into the top two (online) HiJackThis log analysers. It just so happens that I have an old infected log, and I know what is wrong with it.

This one here was very confusing, made many mistakes, missed some of the infected entries etc. HijackThis Logfileauswertung

This one here was very good, and provided detailed explanation on whether to delete each item. It did not recognise one of the infected entries at all, did not recognise the Version 2 HiJackThis and asked me to upgrade to 1.9.x.x, and was heavy handed with the delete button (It asked me to delete a lot!) I was however very impressed. HiJackThis! Log auto analyzer V2

Also, what online scanners do you like. I think the Kaspersky Online scanner is very good, though it will not work on computers with Kaspersky Internet Security installed. There is a nice instruction set here for that program: How to use Kaspersky online scanner (Free Virus Scan) | My Anti Spyware

For individual files my favourite is Virus Total, as it scans with almost all anti-virus software around (40 so far for better protection) Its interface is however slightly lacking. Very good though: VirusTotal - Free Online Virus and Malware Scan

What do you think?

Great input Rich. I havent had a chance to use the Hijack this software yet, but i did read many good things about it from the guys and gals over at Maximum PC.

For AV online scanners, i dont really trust them. I dont have. I like to have my scanners installed or portable scanners. I think online scanning is very risky, as anyone who has a iframe around your IE and is watching can easily crash and ruin your computer.

I stick with local scanning online.

Thats IMO,
Ben

Yes, I agree. I always use local scanning unless the virus has got really, really bad and will not allow this, in which case the online scanners are usually blocked. Just wanted to see what you though about them.

Have just tried them again, with a clean log this time, and the top one said it was clean, but the bottom one still wanted more deleted. So, if you have a clean log, use the top one, and if you have a dirty log, use the bottom one, being very careful not to delete too much!

No this isnt a bootable ISO. It is only a way i packed it. We also talked about this on seven forums.

This link is Self Created ISO: Packed with Infection Removing Tools! - Windows 7 Forums

I also have updated the ISO. I will be able to update it further within the next few days.

Also, if you want me to update this forum every time i update it, just let me know, or you all can tune into the link above.

Enjoy,
Ben

Ya. Get a DVD+-RW and just reburn it every time i release an update. This way, you will have the most up to date files if you ever need to go fix someones comptuer or even your own (if it wont let you download programs.)
