My wife unistalled Norton 360 because it had expired. She was prompted to restart to complete the uninstall. Upon restart she is now unable to connect to internet as well as turn on my firewall. I talked to Geak Squad and they recommended I Refresh my OS. But they went on to say it would be to difficult over the phone. She is in Germany and it would be difficult to take in. Please help because I am deployed in Iraq and really want to communicate with my family.

I found this for you:

It sounds like you removed Norton 360 using the Control Panel and did not use the Norton Removal Tool. Follow the steps below to properly remove Norton 360 from your computer.

1. Since you are unable to connect to the internet, download the Norton Removal Tool onto optical media or a USB drive from another computer.

http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsg…

2. After you run the tool, please restart your computer. Then log in to Windows again and run the removal tool again. Restart your computer after it is finished running the second time as well. This will ensure that all traces of Norton 360 are removed from your computer.

After completing the steps above you should be able to connect to the internet, unless there are infections on your system or some other software conflict causing the problem.

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks, I am going to have her try this. We were attempting to load Symantec back on her PC form an Military web site. The last resort we will have to re format her computer.

Thanks
