Help on how to remove adware

i dont seem to be able to remove, adware.vundo/variant-x 32[header] i run avast comes up clean,malwarebytes, comes up clean,run super spyware and it comes up with this adware,then when i click remove,it tell's me its been removed, restart computer then when i run super spyware its there again,i tried rkill,but it still shows up, any suggestions, thanks, patch41.

thanks oli for your reply tried system restore no good went and googled it, one of the suggestions was vundofix, tried that it didnt work, so up to now tried avast, malwarebytes, superantispyware, rkill,vundofix,viprerescue, windows malicious tool remover, none of them worked, the good thing about superantispyware is it tells me what program its ebedded in, so i removed that program, am running superantispyware and everything looks fine, it hasn't completed yet but looks good, thanks again for taking the time to reply, patch41

No problem.

I hope you have fixed it; just make sure that all the related program files are gone, sometimes the uninstaller leaves some remnants and it's always better to be safe than sorry, especially when dealing with something this nasty.

i used advance uninstaller,which is a good program, checks the registry (etc) i didn't use windows unistaller as i read in the forums that it doesent do a thorough job, leaves things behind, thanks again, from an ex-brit living in the states,patch41. and i tipped the scales
