Is the unlocker malware free? hxxp://********.free.fr/

I was a regular user of it until I reinstalled Windows and then when I came round to downloading it again, my McAfee siteadvisor said that it was a bad site:

********.free.fr | McAfee SiteAdvisor Software

I thought that this must have been wrong, so I clicked on the link in IE, and then IE blocked the site saying that it was dodgy (see attached).

I thought that the McAfee warning must have been a false positive, but now that IE reported it as unsafe I wasn't sure anymore.


I thought that I should check with another few websites:



MalwareURL - Reported as having malware

********.free.fr | WOT Reputation Scorecard | WOT Web of Trust - Reported as having malware

I originally thought that this couldn't have been correct but since so many websites seem to suggest that they do distribute malware, I'm not sure any more.

Any thoughts on the matter?

I think the issue is with the host (free.fr) hosting other sites that are malicious and not the unlocker script itself.

At SF I have that site blocked (and will here very shortly) as linking sites that flag as malicious gets out pages blocked also.

If you go to the developers site, and scroll down to where the changelog is, he has a link or two to his blog where he explains the false positives.
