I had Google redirect virus and could not get rid of it whatever removal tool I used, including Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal Tool, some needing far more computer expertise like delving deep into its innards than I possess, until I read this link on how to remove malicious add-on's since that's what it was:-

I looked in the Add-On's list and found things that did not look as though they came from reputable sources and disabled them and now Google Search works as normal and much faster. The advantage is you can disable one item at a time to see if that cures it and enable it again if it does not cure the problem but upsets something else.
