I had been reading the Hotmail Security Updates from Vista News section.
My question is : Where can I find and install the updates ?
I have Windows Live Hotmail for more than a year, I never saw Hotmail updates offered to me from MS or Windows Updates Center.
I do manual updates and I don't recall installing anything like that, nor can I find any from my Update History.
What am I missing ?

Windows Live Messenger combines the best IM with social networking, so you stay connected with the people who matter the most. Share photos and videos while you chat. Video chat in high definition or send a video message to a friend. And connect your social networks to see important updates in one place—Messenger.

Go to Hotmail security updates protect you from account hijackers and look at the changes shown in the screenshots. Then go to your Windows Live Hotmail and click on Options / More Options and look in the Password Reset area and I'll bet you see the Mobile Phone and Trusted PC options (they probably say add). Click on add to add them if you wish. The fact that you see them means you already have the update - you're missing nothing. I did nothing to add this update and I can't find it spedifically listed in my installed updates, but it seems to have occurred nonetheless. I just filled out that information myself as I didn't even know it existed.

I don't believe there's an official update for us to download - I think the update occurred on the Hotmail website itself. I'm not 100% positive, but I just spent nearly 45 minutes searching for an update we can download every way possible and it just doesn't seem to exist. I do know I would have completed those fields when I first signed up with Hotmail if they were there and since they were not completed, they must have been added since I first signed up - and since the above article references these as being the highlights of the update, I'm pretty sure there's nothing we need to do but complete the new fields.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

P.S. Congratulations on the Skilled badge!

I have completely misunderstood the word " updates ".
It meant an update to Hotmail Security, not " updates " as in Windows Updates.
I am asking the mod to close this thread.
