Had a virus and ran malwarebytes and now im left with missing .dlls

Hey guys, really frustrated.

Had one of those anoying viruses that pop up telling you that ur infected, so stopped the process and ran malwarebytes now im left with a ton of missing .dll's. So im not sure if i have got rid of everything. Tried running Kaspersky boot cd from usb but cant get it running.
Can any of you guys help a frustrated and angry guy.

The laptop hasnt had a restore point made.
Basically I was removing Mcafee to put nod32 on and as soon as I removed it i got lots of pop ups and then a prog called thinkpoint came up.
Did some research on how to remove the crap and basically it said to run malwarebytes .... done and a virus scanner.... done. But I think the virus exe may still be there and ive deleted the dll so it cant start up hence all of the dll errors.

forgot to mention ran the hijackthis in the admin account cos when i ran in in my normal account it doesnt have full admin rights so i logged off and signed into admin and scanned it then.
I dont know if it will make a difference scanning in different accounts?

Does not matter. The entries I had my eye on in the last scan have now been removed. MBAM has done a lot of good (including the second run) Can you please confirm that these .dll messages are still appearing? If they are, can you please write down and post the names of the .dlls in question. Thanks!

Ok ive restarted several times and no more dll errors.
Although windows security centre keeps popping up at the start saying its not activated so i click turn on and i get an error saying the security center service cant be started. Is that because ive deleted something that i shouldnt in the virus scan?

Its ok you don't have to apologize. You have been very helpful. The laptop is usable but just want to make sure that the virus is gone and not embedded somewhere waiting to pop up again. The laptop is very rarely connected to the internet and I don't know where it got these viruses from.

If your anti-virus or firewall complains, please allow this script to run as it is not malicious.
Next: Disconnect from the internet. If you are on Cable or DSL, unplug your computer from the modem.
Next: Please disable all onboard security programs (all running with back ground protection) as it may hinder the scanner from working.
This includes Antivirus, Firewall, and any Spyware scanners that run in the background.
  • Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall
Please be patient while the scan runs, at times it may appear to stall.
When finished and after reboot (in case it asks to reboot), it should open a log, combofix.txt.
Post this log in your next reply together with a new hijackthislog.
After rebooting ensure your Security applications have been re-enabled.
