    Thanks Cap
All the security that we use is not too good if not kept up to date.

    Its your choice
You can use real time monitoring or just scan.

Re: Is Your Security Up To Date

    Rich or anybody,

I am using MSE and MailWarebytes, do you think it would be O.K. to install Windows defender too?...I'm sure your answer will be in the positive, since I can run auto scan, or select when (Time) on the windows apps....

The reason I'm asking is because My machine has been quite slow in loading up different sites or when I use any search engine, once I'm at the site the traveling is fast. I don't now if this question belongs here, but as long as I have the Doctor's ear, I might as well talk about the whole landscape...

Also, my webroot is about to expire (about a week away), do you think I should clean that up now? I'm kinda' afraid that the vendor might give me a little "gift" to encourage me to re-up....Sorry for being cynical..

Speaking of such I had a very small pop-up remnant of Pareto logic. I chatted with them and they said they would e-mail me instructions on how to remove it...About 2 minutes later my machine looked like a 5 alarm fire!! I swept everything and MSE came up with a mailware warning and quarantined it!! So last night at work I opened up the e-mail they sent me....The message said I would have to completely install the product then remove the whole thing! I have not acted on this little nuisance yet. It is not listed in my control panel under install/uninstall programs...anyway this pareto logic thingy is just a very small nuisance anyway...

Well thats about it for now...

    Regard Sully

P.S. Trigger said to tell you "Hi"....He is one bad critter, out all night, sleep'in all day!!!

    Hello Mate,

MSE and Windows Defender uses the same Engine. You just need either one of them. You could use Windows Defender just run a manual scan. MSE and Malwarebtyes are good configuration.

    Hope this helps,
    Captain

Try a clean boot to determine the problem of being slow.
Get Malwarebytes, Microsoft Security Essentials and the Windows Firewall.

    Welcome Sully
Clean is the most difficult up front, but best for the long term.
