so i got some virus. i got rid of it and restarted my computer. all my desktop items are notepads, and whenever i try to open any of them, they open in notepad with a bunch of random letters.

i dont know what to do. ive tried booting it up in safemode, and i the computer restore opens up in notepad

yea, its full of random letters and symbols, each program has a different pattern

When i right click there is no option to open with for some reason

yea i have all the CDs that came with the computer, and its a dell studio with vista home premium
