Too many security programs . . .

I'm digitally dusting off the ol' hard drive and I noticed several antivirus and other security programs installed on my computer. These programs were originally installed at request of the university I attended during the school year, but I'm curious if all of these programs are necessary or if some of them are obsolete or redundant (i.e., is there something that Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware does that Symantec Endpoint Protection doesn't?)

The list of programs that are currently installed:
Ad-Aware (Lavasoft)
Anti-Malware (Malwarebytes)
Spybot - Search & Destroy
Symantec Endpoint Protection
Windows Defender

I want to keep Symantec and Defender, but the other three, can I delete?

Thanks.

I would suggest that you remove all of those and replace them with the following:

Microsoft Security Essentials
Malwarebytes' Anti Malware

If you really do want to keep Symantec and Defender, that is fine but I would recommend that you also keep Malwarebytes just for weekly scans
