    MySecurityCenter pop up

I could realy do with some help.Whenever I boot up my 'puter I get a pop up from MySecurityCentrer registration. I don't trust this site and have no intention of registering with it and I am reluctant to visit this site to find out how to remove this pop up. I have tried stopzilla and Norton security to no avail. They tell me that some trojans have been removed and my system is safe. I believe these Trojans and malware viruses emanated from this site. How can I remove this pop up. Thank you for any advice

Hello, this free guide may be the ticket. Remove Security Center (Uninstall Guide)
just follow it step by step and this should clear you up. See if this works for you .

Still no joy, It wants me to download a free download of a programme I already have the puchased version of (stopzilla). I cannot seem to be able to find any information on how to stop the pop up appearing, just an instruction to scan my 'puter, this has not resolved the problem. Any more ideas. Thank you

If it won't let you run malwareabytes then you can try in safe mode and should be able to.

Good thing that you didn't give anyone money for that program.

I already had malwarebytes on my computer and also Stopzilla, I ran a scan with both these programmes. Initially malware bytes picked up two trojans/viruses. These were attended to. A subsequent scan showed that my system was OK but I still get a pop up showing MySecurityCentre registration when I boot up my 'puter. I have just scanned again with the same result. No viruses found but the pop up still appears

Try microsoft security essentials. You will need to remove your other antivirus but malwarabytes can stay. If MSE doesn't find anything we might have to summon the security experts.

    Re: MySecurityCenter pop up

According to my Norton security programme my pc security, identity, backup and tune up are all protected. Both Malewarebytes and stopzilla show my 'puter to be clear of viruses. Would flushing the DNS (whatever that is) or clearing the history of sites visited possibly solve the issue? If this is worth a try, how is it done?

    Re: MySecurityCenter pop up

Hello again, i was looking at un-resolved threads and see this thread still needs attention . Since it has been a while, if you are still seeing that pop up, do this : When malwarebytes has shown you to be clean and your other programs have also, then next step is to use this program to scan to ensure nothing was missed ; Free ESET Online Antivirus Scanner Use your IE browser for this please and you need to disable Norton while this runs. Post back results of this scan please ( don't forget to enable your Norton after this scan is done )
If you are clean on this scan then use this program to clean up temp files : TFC - Temp File Cleaner by OldTimer - Geeks to Go Forums
Then make a new restore pt .
If your scans are good, then clean temp files out, make restore pt for a reset point to use if you ever need to restore to a clean point.
    Post back your results please.

    Re: MySecurityCenter pop up

Hello YPY181comet and welcome to the forums

In addition to Yard Dog's excellent instructions, if you're still having problems with this, then can you please run OTL for me:

    OTL

    Download OTL to your desktop.
Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed to let it run uninterrupted.
When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output.
Under the Extra Registry box change it to All.
Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check.
Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post it with your next reply.

    Tom
