Hi there, I'm trying to help a friend who's managed to get a serious virus on his Vista-based system....
The virus has disabled access to regedit, which is a pain. I tried to run gpedit.msc but the machine says it can't be found. Launching Explorer shows an empty disk (although I know the files are there, as I've booted from an Ubuntu Live CD and checked).
To add to the complication, his system has a RAID 0 boot disk (NVidia Ion Fake RAID, I think), which seems to cause a problem for some of the repair tools available (ie they don't even recognise that the drives are there).
Anyone have an idea of how to fix it??
