Your help is sincerely appreciated.
To protect yourself, download and run a full scan with malwarebytes its free.
Scan with eset online scanner, no download required
Upadate and run a full scan with your anti virus. If all are negative you are free of the virus. If you are clean make a system restore point
I would delete all previous system restore points to be sure that they are not accidentaly utililized, bringing back the virus.
There is no way to tell how long you have had the virus.
A weekly scan with Malwarebytes and MSE is sufficient.
You can set MSE to make scans at the times that you feel are appropriate. Set it for a full scan. Open MSE, go to settings and set the scan schedule. Make it the full scan.
Here is the MS information on the virus.

Apparently you have nothing to worry about. Its function is to notify you of fake virus that they will remove for a price. If that has not happenend and you removed it your ok.
