Let's begin with me saying I am pretty savvy with computers to a degree. I have cleaned up a few horribly running ones. Now, I have a 4-5 year old computer. Never had any problems with it until recently. I don't generally read emails on my computer, usually on my phone. I haven't downloaded anything (until it went retarded on me the past few days) in about 2 years. I have windows vista 32bit with half the hard drive space free. My windows started flashing when using, crashing them as well. Something in the background started running recently as well. So I ran cleared out history, cookies, temp internet files on google chrome, IE, safari and firefox even tho I have them set (well chrome I always have to manuallly delete) to delete when I shut the window. Then I went to startup and deleted some nonpert. Items and discovered a virus on it, CMK.EXE well took that off. Then I found it in processes as well. Did research bc adaware and avast did not catch it not even windows defender. Did an avast boot scan and it found a few corrupt files one in adaware so I went into add/remove and repaired it as well as avast just in case. Ran adaware and it found a couple temp files infected that were minor and also Explorer32.Hijacker which is quarentined right now. I also went on majorgeeks.com and downloaded a registry cleaner. First run had 1,713 errors. Second time was a little over 200 since then its been like 2 or 0. But then I tried to install a new antivirus to see if a different one would detect it. It caused my comp to not startup and had to do a start up repair. Which also required to restore so that program and the registry one is off but still virus stands of course. So I installed AVG and its scanning right now with nothin detected. I realling don't want to reformat my comp bc I have some software I lost the discs and registration to and they equal hundreds of dollars. Pleeease help!

Update. Scanned clean. Doing avg's pc analyzer now and so far its found 1,657 registry errors, 2,226 junk file errors, 7% fragmented, and 93 broken shortcut errors found.. fixing now.

is there a way i can re register or re enter the windows firewall file back into SERVICES......have been looking,have not found it yet.....yes i have done malwarebytes,free avast and MSrt...nothing detected...i run these scans 4 or 5 times a day...done the SFC scannow...also my windows defender has stopped working..all this happened when my Security Center went down...read my above posts please..someone here knows the answer...i just have too wait til i see it..thx ppl...
