I disabled Windows Firewall thinking that it would help a computer game download work and now I can't turn it back on! I tried this: Right-click Command Prompt (in Start Menu\Programs\Accessories) and choose
Run as Administrator. Type (or Copy and Paste) the following command: winmgmt /verifyrepository. It said WMI is consistent. Ever since I've done that I've had even more trouble. I clicked on: Turn Windows Firewall on or off and clicked continue. Then it said: Windows Firewall settings cannot be displayed because the associated service is not running. Do you want to start the Windows Firewall service? Then when I clicked on Yes it said Windows cannot start the firewall service. Also if I click on Update settings now it does nothing! :sa: Please help!!!!!!!

Welcome
I do not know what the precise cause of your problem may be. The easiest way to resolve this problem is with a system restore. Pick a date prior to your disabling the firewall. None of your personal stuff (documents and pics) will be affected. Only Windows and any software that you dowloaded will go back to the date that you select.
