| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Notification Area - System Icons Hi Cocksy_Boy, Welcome to Vista Forums. ![]() Sorry, but there is no way for a desktop without a backup UPS device. ![]() You can easily create a Power Options shortcut and place it where you like for easy use though. For example, in Quick Launch. 1. Open the Control Panel (Classic View) 2. Right click on the Power Options icon. 3. Click on Create Shortcut. This will create a Power Options shortcut on your desktop that you can move to where you like. You can also do this with any other icon in the Control Panel. Hope this helps, Shawn |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Notification Area - System Icons Your welcome Cocksy_Boy. In addition: When you add a shortcut to Quick Launch (QL), the first 10 will automatically be assigned a keyboard shortcut for opening them to. You would press the Windows Key + a number between 1 to 0 to open the corresponding shortcut in QL. Shawn |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Notification Area - System Icons Hi Carebear, Welcome to Vista Forums. ![]() The Power icon will not be available (ungrayed) unless your computer is a laptop running on battery power or a desktop plugged into a backup power UPS battery box. This will show you how to create a Power Options shortcut that you can use instead for now. You can place it where you like for easy use. For example, the desktop or Quick Launch. Power Options Desktop Shortcut Hope this helps, Shawn |
