I used the Registry files to enable and disable and they work perfect.

Really comes in handy when I have more than 10 windows open and looks slick...

Hi kaiden xo,

Welcome to Vista Forums.

Did you check to make sure that you have the Windows Aero color scheme running? It is required for Flip 3D. Will it not start for you?

I recently installed Vista Ultimate 32 bit and upgraded my video card to a GeForce 8500 GT with 512MB. I've followed all the examples to get the flip3d function to work but haven't been able to do so. Is there something I am missing to do since nothing seems to help..any advice would be great, thanks

Hi Dooley,

Welcome to Vista x64 Forums.

Have you made sure that you have the Windows Aero color scheme selected and running?

You might also try refreshing your Windows Experience Index score to see if that helps.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have the Windows Aero scheme running but just what is the "Windows Experience Index" and where can I find it? I just purchased this product so bear with me if you can.

Thanks for you help

My Computer

I at least answered my own question about the windows experience index. Great tool, Google.

My score is 4.5 so everything looks good to run everything, so what could it possibly be that I can't utilize the flip3d function?

My Computer

dooley,

It sounds like you meet all the requirements. Are you using the correct keyboard shortcuts for Flip 3D? You might see if restarting the computer will help.

Was it working before you installed the new video card?

My old card didn't support Vista Ultimate and that's why I installed this one. I've tried the shortcuts to no avail. I changed the option to allow the flip3d in the administrators panel. It's got me stumped for sure. I may be slow but not this slow..LOL

Guess I'll keep poking around until I find an answer or until someone shows me what I am doing wrong, which is most likely the problem.

Thanks for your help

I fixed the problem. Instead of using the group policy hack, I just deleted the value in the registry example that you gave in the forum. All is well. I should've tried that first but I thought the gpedit would take care of it.

Hi!
I have been trying to remove my windows flip now for a few hours, and still it doesn't work. I've searching alot on the internet, and have been following alot of different guides, and the only thing that has been removed was the windows Flip 3D, but the '' windows flip'' is still there and I just can't remove it.

Is it even possible to remove it at all? If it is plz help me, I just can't do it myself.

My Computer

Hi Blackzzter,

Welcome to Vista Forums.

Just so that I am clear on what you are needing:

Where are you trying to remove Windows Flip 3D from?

Are you trying to remove a shortcut of Flip 3D?

If you are trying to disable Window Flip 3D from working, then the only way is to turn off Windows Aero and use another color scheme instead, or disable it for all users in this tutorial.

Hope this helps for now,
Shawn

Well, the big problem is tha Im always pressing alt+tab at the wrong moment.
Then it's going windows mode suddenly, which is extreamly enoying.

I just want to disable this function, or remove the aly+tab combination, just to make sure that this is n ot happening. If there is any way to change the hot key, or if it's possible to remove the hole Vista flip...

I hope that you understand what I mean ^^

My Computer

Blackzzter,

I do not know of a way other than through a 3rd party program. I found this 30 day trial program called WinLock that says it can disable this. I have not tried it to verify if it works, but you might give it a try to see.

Crystal Office Systems - WinLock

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Hi,

I tried disabling it using through the registry and that worked but I was hoping that WIN+TAB would then act as it did in the past i.e. allowing you to cycle through the Taskbar. After making the change, though,it just does nothing.

I was wondering if you knew if there's a way to do that in Vista. Thanks.
