| | Re: The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded. HELP!!!!! I am having real problems trying to resolve this problem. My profile/user account is the administrator, my wives is a standard account. While trying to solve via standard account, by using your tips, it is stopping me from actioning as it wants admin password, which I type, then does not proceed any further. I cannot delete my account & I also have tried & failed via cmd to disable admin account. This is driving me nuts, & I just want smoeone to tell me how to get access back for my account ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Welcome to Vista Forums. ![]() Are you able to boot into Safe Mode to enable the built-in Administrator account? From that account try Option One again. Shawn Shawn, Safe mode?? Any further info, excuse my apparent techno dyslexia...... Plus I noticed your advice to LRaul. It still will not allow change of name, add bak, remove bak. Still keeps saying name already exists no matter what you try & change 1st. Any suggestions on a rename that it will allow? I have the original install disk, again though, I am administator, so it will not allow any functions to run as my user is not accessible. I appreciate all your advice, but would I just be better just trying to ring microsoft & try, try & sort over the phone? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hey, I tried again and I finally got in the built-in administrator and turned it on and I was able to delete the one that said .bak, never let me rename it. I was able to create me a new account. Should I keep the built in administrator for a while and not put myself as the administrator, just in case. Thanks for all your help!!! I really appreciate it!!!! ![]() |

| | Re: The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded. Your welcome LRaulerson, It's up to you, but it would not hurt to make sure everything is ok first if you decide to turn off the built-in Admnistrator account. It's just more of a security risk to run in the built-in Administrator account since everything running will have full access to the computer while in it with no UAC to ask for your permission first. Glad to hear that you have it back up and running again. Thank you for the feedback. Shawn |

Try step two in STEP ONE, then step 6 in OPTION ONE. Worse case, you can boot from the installation DVD and reinstall everything to fix it. Hope this helps, Shawn |

| | Re: The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded. By carefully following the directions, I was able to gain access to my administrator user profile. I had lost access to that account after an automatic Windows update. Thanks! |
