How to Create Shortcuts to Delete Internet Explorer Browsing History in Vista

  This will show you how to create or download shortcuts to delete the IE7 Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, History, Form Data, Saved Passwords, All Browsing history, and All Browsing and Add-ons history.

NOTE: You will be creating shortcuts for these below.

METHOD ONE:
Through a Download
NOTE
  These are all of the ones listed below in METHOD TWO.
1. Click on the download button below to download the Delete_IE7_History_Shortcuts.zip file.



2. Click on Save and save the Delete_IE7_History_Shortcuts.zip file to your desktop.
3. Right click on Delete_IE7_History_Shortcuts.zip and click on Open and Allow.
4. Extract the shortcuts in the ZIP file that you want.
5. Move the extracted shortcuts where you like for easy use.

METHOD TWO:
The Manual Way
1. Right click on a empty space on your desktop and click on New and Shortcut.




2. Type in the location below in bold for the shortcut you want. (See screenshot below step 3)
  • To Delete Temporary Internet Files
    • Type: RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 8
  • To Delete Cookies
    • Type: RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 2
  • To Delete History
    • Type: RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 1
  • To Delete Form Data
    • Type: RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 16
  • To Delete Saved Passwords
    • Type: RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 32
  • To Delete All Browsing History
    NOTE: This deletes all of the above items.
    • Type: RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 255
  • To Delete All Browsing and Add-Ons History
    NOTE: This deletes all of the above items, plus all of the IE add-on's history.
    • Type: RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 4351
3. Click on Next. (See screenshot below)

4. Type in a name for the shortcut and click Finish. (See screenshot below)

5. To Change the Shortcut Icon -
A) For how see: How to Change a Shortcut Folder or File Icon in Vista
NOTE: If you would like to use the IE7 icon, then Browse to this location: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe (See screenshot below)
