How to Add or Remove "Previous Versions" Tab from Properties

This will allow you to add or remove the Previous Versions tab from all Properties pages of files and folders for all users in Vista and Windows 7.
Note   Note
Previous Versions is only available in the Vista Ultimate, Business, and Enterprise editions.

Previous Versions is available in all Windows 7 editions.

Previous Versions Requirements
  • Turn on System Protection for the drive(s) that you want to have previous versions of it's files and folders available.
  • Have any files that are not system files you want to also have previous versions of included in Windows Backups when created.
  • Volume Shadow Copy - Service set as default of Manual.
  • Server - Service set as default of Started and Automatic.
  • TCP/IP NetBios Helper - Service set as default of Started and Automatic.
  • Workstation - Service set as default of Started and Automatic.

Here's How:
1. To Remove "Previous Versions" Tab from Properties
A) Click on the download button below to download the file below.

B) Go to step 3.
2. To Restore Previous Versions Tab to Properties
A) Click on the download button below to download the file below.
Restore_Previous_Versions_Properties_Tab.reg

3. Click on Save, and save the .reg file to the Desktop.

4. Right click on the downloaded .reg file and click on Merge.

5. Click on Run, Continue (UAC-Vista) or Yes (UAC-Windows 7), Yes, and then OK when prompted.

6. When done, you can delete the downloaded .reg file if you like.
