Hello Zosotino, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Be sure you click on the "Classic View" link in the Control Panel to see Default Programs.

Which part exactly is not there for you though?

Did you do step 7 and not 8 in the tutorial?

Check in Default Programs to see if it is listed afterwards.

    Zosotino,

If it has not been to long ago, you might see if doing a system restore using a restore point dated when it was listed to see if it can fix it for you.

Re: Windows Media Center - Restore or Remove from Default Programs

I imagine that when deselecting "Windows Media Center", all it does is avoid loading any services that might be associated with it and not uninstall anything from your system. I had noticed there was a media center process running on my system when I had no wish to use it. I do use Media Player from time to time, though. This should run independently of Media Center, correct?
