How to Put the Menu Bar on Top in Internet Explorer 7

INFO: This will show you how to put the Menu Bar on the top of IE7 instead of under the address bar by default.

WHY: You just prefer to have the Menu Bar on Top of IE's Window instead of under the address bar.

METHOD ONE:
Through a Download:

1. To Put the Menu Bar on Top -
A) MenuBarOnTop.reg < CLICK TO DOWNLOAD

2. To Restore the Default Menu Bar Position -
A) MenuBarDefault.reg < CLICK TO DOWNLOAD

3. Click on Save, and save the .reg file to the Desktop.
4. Right click the .reg (On Desktop) file and click Merge.
5. Click Run button for Security Warning prompt.
6. Click on Continue (UAC), Yes, and then OK when prompted.
7. When done, you can delete the .reg file (On Desktop).


METHOD TWO:
The Manual Way:
1. Open the Start Menu.
2. In the white line (Start Search) area, type regedit and press Enter.
3. Click the Continue button for the UAC prompt.
4. In regedit, go to: (See screenshot below)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser

5. To Put the Menu Bar on Top -
A) In the right pane, right click on a empty area and click New -> DWORD (32-bit) Value.
B) Type ITBar7Position and press Enter.
C) Right click on ITBar7Position and click Modify.

D) Type 1 and click OK. (See screeshot below)

6. To Restore the Default Menu Bar Position -
A) Right click on ITBar7Position and click Delete. (See screenshot below step 5C)
B) Click Yes to confirm deletion.
