How to Put the Menu Bar on Top in Internet Explorer
Information
  This will show you how to put the Menu Bar on the top of Internet Explorer instead of under the address bar by default.
Tip
  To add or remove the Menu bar, right click on a empty space on the IE toolbar and check or uncheck Menu Bar.

METHOD ONE:
Through a Download
1. To Put the Menu Bar on Top -
A) Click on the download button below to download the
MenuBarOnTop.reg file.

B) Go to step 3.


2. To Restore the Default Menu Bar Position -
A) Click on the download button below to download the
MenuBarDefault.reg file.


3. Click on Save, and save the .reg file to the Desktop.

4. Right click the on .reg file (on Desktop) and click on Merge.

5. Click on the Run button in the Security Warning prompt.

6. Click on Continue (UAC), Yes, and then OK when prompted.

7. When done, you can delete the .reg file (on Desktop).

8. Close and reopen Internet Explorer to see the changes.



METHOD TWO:
The Manual Way
1. Open the Start Menu.

2. In the white line (Start Search) area, type regedit and press Enter.

3. If prompted, click on Continue in the UAC prompt.

4. In regedit, go to: (See screenshot below step 5C)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser

5. To Put the Menu Bar on Top -
A) In the right pane, right click on a empty area and click on New and DWORD (32-bit) Value.

B) Type ITBar7Position and press Enter.

C) Right click on ITBar7Position and click on Modify.

D) Type 1 and click on OK. (See screeshot below)

Size:  30.8 KB
E) Go to step 7.
6. To Restore the Default Menu Bar Position -
A) Right click on ITBar7Position and click on Delete. (See screenshot below step 5C)

B) Click on Yes to confirm the deletion.
7. Close and reopen Internet Explorer to see the changes.

Hi Atashiusa08, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Yes, it will work in both the 32 bit and 64 bit Vista. Each tutorial has an Applies to box towards the upper right corner to help let you know what the tutorial should work with.
