| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Explorer - Folder Type Templates Hi Etodem, Did you mean that you wanted to hide the Favorite Links part of the Navigation Pane? You can also hide the Folder Tree without turning the Navigation Pane off too. If so, this tutorial will show you how to do it. Favorite Links - Hide Shawn |

| x32 Ultimate / x64 Home Premium | Re: Windows Explorer - Folder Type Templates Is there any way to create additional templates beyond the six? In particular I want my video folders to display one set of details and my picture folders another and I'd like new sub-folders to default to these details. |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Explorer - Folder Type Templates Hello Downeast. Welcome to Vista Forums. ![]() Sorry, anything other than the default six templates has to be set manually for the folder's and subfolder's window if you do not want to apply it to all of the same folder templates of that type. ![]() Shawn |

| Windows Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Explorer - Folder Type Templates Hello Brink... i donīt know it is normal, but when I click "Customize this folder" in the main user directory, I get this error: The proprieties of this item are not avaliable". Is this normal? How can I change the template of my user folder? |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Explorer - Folder Type Templates Hello Alvarogd, This is normal from the User folder window from the Start menu or at the top of the folder tree. Instead you would have to use and change the one from the C:\Users\(User Name) location instead. Hope this helps, Shawn |

| Windows Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Explorer - Folder Type Templates Thanks, Brink. But when I change the c:\Users\userfolder, it changes just there, there is no change when I open my user folder from the start menu. I am asking this becouse my main user folder changed to the music template without my intervention. I used system restore and now its fine, but I donīt want to use system restore everytime it happens (if it happens again in the future, I donīt know...) |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Explorer - Folder Type Templates Alvarogd, I'm afraid that I do not know of a way to change that location's folder template. ![]() To help prevent it from being changed automatically, you can use Method Two in this tutorial. Windows Explorer Folder View settings Hope this helps some, Shawn |

| Vista Ultimate 32 bit | Missing Contacts template option The Contacts template is often missing from the 'Use this folder type as a template' drop down list on the Customize tab of the folder properties dialog. Does anyone know how to get the Contacts template to appear in this list for all folders? |

| Vista Ultimate 32 bit | Re: Windows Explorer - Folder Type Templates Many thanks for the welcome. :-) That's what I thought. I was hoping someone might know a way to get it to appear more widely but I guess not. |
